Our Coaches

Rob Anderson

Rob created Athletic Evolution to provide best practice in the athletic development and coaching of young athletes. He is dedicated to improving the quality of athletic development training delivered to young athletes. Rob currently leads the Youth Athletic Development for the Scottish Rugby Academy in the Caledonia Region. He has previously worked for numerous organisations including NYFA Sweden, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Team Palmer-Grimson Beach Volleyball, London Thunder Basketball, British Gymnastics and Leaf Studio School.

He holds numerous qualifications, including:

  • MSc in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology
  • BSc (Hons) in Strength and Conditioning Science
  • World Rugby Coach Educator – Strength and Conditioning
  • UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • ISAK Level 1 Anthropometrist
  • Precision Nutrition Level 1
  • Level 2, Level 3 and Level 3 Advanced NASM qualifications

Filippo Bertolini

Filippo is passionate about taking young athletes forward not only in terms of sport performance, but also general wellbeing and wholesome habits, in order to create solid foundations for physical development and a healthy life. Filippo is currently Head of Strength & Conditioning for Stirling County RFC. He has 10 years of experience coaching across 4 different countries working with organisations including Sunderland Football Club, Rugby Parma FC, Waitakere City Rugby Club, Amatori Parma Rugby, Crociati Noceto Football Club and President’s Tennis Club.

He also holds various qualifications, including:

  • Msc (Hons) in Strength and Conditioning
  • BSc in Sport and Exercise Science
  • ISAK Level 1 Anthropometrist
  • World Rugby Level 2 Strength and Conditioning
  • UKSCA Associate Member

Lorne Christie

Lorne is a BSc (Hons) graduate in Strength and Conditioning from Abertay University. He is dedicated and passionate about developing young athletes and helping them to become successful within sports, academics and life. Lorne is currently a Lead Venue coach for the Scottish Rugby Academy Caledonia Region. He is currently working at the High School of Dundee as the Lead Strength and Coach, driving performance and athletic development within the school’s high-performance programme. He currently works with a range of different athletes and sports including skiing, snowboarding, cricket, athletics, football, hockey and sailing and has previous experience working for Dundee United FC.

Lorne Currently holds a range of qualifications, including

  • BSc in Strength and Conditioning
  • UKSCA Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • World Rugby Level 1 Strength and Conditioning
  • ISAK Level 1 Anthropometrist
