Testimonials

“I have had the pleasure of working with Rob over the last few years organising various sports coach CPD events in Edinburgh. Rob has an infectious passion for youth athlete development, and it has been fantastic to work with someone who has a real enthusiasm about wanting to create accessible learning opportunities for coaches who work in this field.  As an event partner, Rob is always on hand to help with the planning and delivery of events with a great attention to detail. Rob’s knowledge of youth athlete development, along with his contacts in this area, allowed us to develop workshops and content that appealed to coaches from a range of sports and performance levels. It makes the organising of these events so much easier when you are working with, someone such as Rob, that shares the desire to ensure what is on offer is a high-quality learning experience.

As a deliver, Rob has an excellent delivery style that is engaging and informative. He possesses the ability to be able to tailor information so that everyone in his audience can understand the points he is trying to get across, no matter their level of expertise. The other great thing about Rob’s style as a workshop deliverer is that blend of theory and practical, he builds into sessions. The feedback from session participants often highlighted the value of having both elements during a session- the “hears why you should do that…” and the “this is how you do it…”! I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Rob as a speaker to any club, NGB or sports organisations.

“Rob was a great addition to our recent Performance Workshop event at Oriam. He presented insightful and useful content with enthusiasm to ensure the audience were engaged throughout. We would not hesitate to book him for future events with Perform Better.”

Darren Ross – Perform Better Ltd
“Rob was kind enough to accept the invitation to present at the JSF Annual Conference this year. The conference focused on youth athlete development and physical literacy, so Rob’s area of expertise was a great match. Rob delivered a captivating and well informed lecture where the audience had the chance to both learn and practically apply Robs lessons. Rob bought enthusiasm, critical thinking to what was a thought provoking and stigma challenge session relating to the development of youth athletes. The session explored the most up-to-date research around youth development and importantly provided the framework and context to apply it. Rob was able to adapt the session to suit all levels of delegate and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. As an organisation we would highly recommend Rob as a speaker and will hopefully be able to encourage him back to Jersey next year.”

“As a Youth Coach and Presenter, based in Ireland, I’m keen to observe and learn from fellow coaches, both here, and internationally. I first came across Rob and Athletic Evolution (AE), via a Facebook group that he set up for Youth S&C Coaches. What impressed me is that Rob is employed by Scottish Rugby (which involves long hours), yet he spends additional time on the website and FB group sharing material that is so beneficial to other coaches. This is something more usually done by self-employed coaches, understandably building their profile. Rob, however, does is it out of passion for the profession. I had the pleasure of being a presenter at his first (of many I hope) Athletic Evolution conference, It was organised professionally and ran smoothly, showing Rob’s ability to get things done. He also demonstrated his own ability to expertly present, when he was in the lineup of speakers at the 2018 Jersey Sports Federation Conference. Keep up the good work, Rob. Can’t wait to see what you do next. “
